Its low, rounded form and narrow, irregular neck give it an ancient, primitive quality, while the heavily textured surface and variations in earthy tones create the impression of weathered stone. Subtle dark markings and natural imperfections add depth and character, making this a truly one-of-a-kind piece. Hand-shaped and individually finished, this vessel celebrates the beauty of imperfection. Its sculptural form makes it equally suited to standing alone as an object of art or displaying dried flowers, grasses or seeds as it is water resistant but not waterproof. Each Barbara BlackAsh vessel is individually handmade in South Africa, and no two will ever be exactly alike. I hope my art brings you as much peace and joy as it has brought me while creating it.
